Welcome to Simulation Simplified! This text has been designed for nurse educators/faculty inboth academicor practice settings. The aim of this instructor manual is to “simplify” the process of teachingwith simulationbyprovidingmanyhelpful tips, scenariosandtemplatesthat youwill beable touse right away. The lessons learned from this text and accompanying electronic resourceswill help take themystery, the guesswork and the difficulty outof the componentsof implementing simulation.Youwill learnhow to create realism inyour scenario, how toeffectivelydesignandunfold a simulation scenario. In addition, youwill learn how to facilitate high quality debriefing/reflective thinking sessions after the simulation has been implemented. In thefinal chapter youwill gain insight into international perspectives on simulationand futuredirections. SimulationSimplified is comprised of three components: an instructor manual, a student workbook and electronic resources for both thenursing facultyand the students. Features • Mini videovignettes andphotos. • Ten sample scenarioswill beprovided in theappendixwith clear instructionsonhow todevelop further scenarios for labs through the “recipe card”method. • A student handbook andelectronic resources accompany the handbook. • Anadditional online component (for separatepurchase), includes links to clinical decision supportmaterials from Lippincott’sNursing Solutions, providing support for students in their comprehensionof critical care scenarios.
