■ The superior glenohumeral ligament (SGHL) is located directly anteroinferior to the root of the biceps. In ante- rior instability cases that have both Bankart and SLAP lesions, there is typically a disruption of the SGHL. We believe that an SGHL tear should be repaired with its own suture anchor (Fig. 3-136) because of its impor- tance as the primary restraint against anterior instabil- ity with the arm at the side. the instability injury and should be repaired regard- less of the patient’s age. SLAP repair enhances anterior stability. Therefore, we repaired the SLAP lesion in this patient.
